 Grow Groups

We are all about providing opportunities for people to grow in their faith in Christ. Grow Groups are a great way to do that together with others who are likewise on a spiritual growth journey. Join us at 9:00 am on Saturday mornings for these growth opportunities. There are classes for all age groups.
Fall 2017 Classes
Children's Classes

The Gospel Project® is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study…that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ. Over the course of three years, participants will journey from Genesis to Revelation and discover how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today, compelling them to join the mission of God.”
Each week the kids will explore a Bible story and participate in a wide variety of age-appropriate activities to immerse kids in the gospel. Video, active games, arts/crafts, worship components and so much more will be used to make this an engaging, growing, and fun experience that your children will not want to miss.

Adult Classes

  • True to the Sabbath, True to Our God – Led by Pastor Chuck Graffius

Pastor Chuck will be leading an adult class on the book "True to the Sabbath, True to Our God" written by his son, Larry Graffius. This book is a fresh, relevant, Bible study of God's command to "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy." You will discover new meaning and practical application of this often over-looked principle of Christtian living.

  • Mental Illness is Not a Choice – Led by Parish Nurse Barb Green and Sue Cruzan

Parish Nurse Barb Green and Sue Cruzan will be leading an adult class entitled “Mental Illness is Not a Choice.” Twenty-five percent of the U.S. population suffers from one or more forms of mental illness. This is more than those diagnosed with diabetes, AIDS, heart disease and cancer combined.  One in 7 of the adults and one in 5 of the children sitting near you in church may have a form of mental illness. Pastors may know who these people are but many of the rest of us don’t and perhaps we really don’t want to know. Due to the stigma attached to mental illness, those who are ill are often too ashamed to let us know what they are experiencing.  How do we as church members react to these statistics? Are we afraid? Do we back away from becoming involved?  Do we wish they would just go somewhere else to worship?

The church has been called to continue Jesus’ healing ministry and yet we have turned our back on mental health issues.  What should be the Church’s role to the mentally ill and their families? How can we understand more about mental illness? What does scripture say about this?  How can our church respond?  How can you as an individual respond?  In this class we will discuss these questions and hopefully find some answers through Bible Study, videos, personal stories and other methods.  The class is for anyone who wants to know more about mental health issues, families who deal with the fallout from mental illness, those who suffer from mental illness and those of any age who want to be involved.   The goal is to increase awareness of mental health issues so that we as individuals and our church can learn to help.

  • The Gospel Project® – Led by Pastor Liz Green

Join us this fall for our third adult class The Gospel Project, a chronological, Christ-centered study of the Gospels and into the Book of Acts led by Pastor Liz. Jesus Saves focuses on the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of our Lord and Savior. The Gospel Project takes us on a three-year journey of the entire Bible.  This adult class will study the same portion of Scripture that our preschool and primary grades are studying each week, so it is especially recommended for parents whose children are in that class.  This provides families an opportunity to study the same Scripture together during the week, and is a part of our overall approach to ensure a comprehensive learning opportunity for all ages in our Grow Groups.  The adult class will use a combination of prepared lessons from the study guide provided and Inductive Bible Study.
